Anirudh Suri


Anirudh Suri is currently the President of the Harvard club of India.

In his life outside the HCI, Anirudh is the Managing Director of India Internet Fund, a U.S. and India based early stage technology focused  venture capital fund. IIF and its partners have invested in over 75 startups in India and the U.S.

Anirudh previously served as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of State for Communications and Technology in the Government of India. Prior to that, he Worked at McKinsey & Company in New York and Goldman Sachs in London.

As President of the Harvard Club of India for the last two years, he conceptualized and led the organization of several successful events such as:

  • The 1st Annual Harvard India Entrepreneurship Summit
  • An exclusive dinner evening with the Tibetan PM
  • A joint conference in Mumbai with FICCI with Mr. Jayant Sinha (Mos Finance) as the keynote Speaker
Shobhana Rana


My work for the past two decades has focused on conflict resolution and crisis management in war torn regions, and I have served in various capacities with the United Nations, European Union ans most recently as Senior Advisor with the United States Department of State. I have worked in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Iraq and Kosovo, while continuing to be engaged in policy issue in New York and Washington DC, on state-building efforts across the globe.

Upon my return to India since  2011, I have worked as Senior Advisor on the Indo-US Strategic Dialogue, advising on key agreements between the two governments and monitoring their overall implementation. In this capacity, I have engaged with several think tanks, the private sector and the Government of India, all of which can become increasingly important partners for our initiatives at the HCI over the course of next two years.

Shadan Farasat


Shadan Farasat is a gold medalist from the NLSIU, Bangalore and completed his Master of Laws (LLM) at the Harvard Law School in 2008-2009. He has worked for the law firm Amarchand Mangaldas, Delhi and the Africa Development Bank at Tunisia, North Africa. For the past many years he is an Advocate on Record in the Supreme Court of India and also before the High Court of Delhi and other regulatory forums in Delhi. His area of practice is wide and includes constitutional, commercial, civil and criminal law. He has been one of the most active members of the Executive Council of HCI in the last two years, taking lead in organizing and participating in various events such as the Harvard Global Networking Night, One Harvard Young Harvard Mixed, Young Harvard Alumni in Indian Politics, Harvard India Entrepreneurship Summit, Heritage Walk of Delhi and Dinner with the Tibetan Prime Minister.

AdwaitVikram Singh


Adwait Vikram Singh, LL.M, Harvard Law School is Co-Founder of Impetus Analytics, it is an analytics company which helps analyze data for political campaigns and other organizations. Adwait has worked in the 2017 UP election campaign and currently pursuing engagements with many other upcoming campaigns in India. His work was covered by The Gaurdian, Times of India, Indian Express, Hindustan Times and other major newspapers.

Adwait has actively involved with the startup community and helped draft Uttar Pradesh startup policy. As a student he led a delegation of investors of Poland to foster bilateral economic relations between India and Eastern Europe. He has also been involved in student politics and worked on various developmental projects with the Central Government and various reputed NGOs in India.


Prama Bhandari

I am a very successful juggler cum trapeze artiste, a great story-teller who also writes short stories for children an HRD expert who was the first woman to break the male domination of the Haryana Labour Department & Industry a teacher of Reiki and the Art of Living; a Past President of the Harvard Club of India; a member of the committee that formulated the Constitution of the Harvard Club of India part of the team that organized the World Culture Festival in 2016 where 3.5 million people came from all over the globe. Past President and active member of Women’s International Club, Delhi; Trustee of Opendharma. Member of the Board of Governors of Prajna Vihar School as well as of the Tushita Center  Past Member of the Board of Sri Sri University a wife, mother, daughter-in-law, daughter and grand-mother.

Ms. Meenakshi Datta Ghosh

Meenakshi Datta Ghosh, an Indian career civil servant, is currently, Chairman, Government of India, High Level Committee on Disciplinary Cases in Professional Institutes; Government Nominee, Institute of Company Secretaries, India, Disciplinary Committee; Chairman Jan Elaaj (a health start up); Board Member, Consumer Online Foundation and Partnership for Safe Medicines (PSM) India initiative; Charter Member Institute of Health Systems Hyderabad, Advisor, Bolpur Manav Sewa Sanstha, an NGO, in ShantiNiketan, West Bengal. She writes regularly on health and local government related policy and programme initiatives. Was President Harvard Club of India (HCI), 2010-2012, and is Member Executive Committee, HCI 2011 onwards.

Former Permanent Secretary Government of India, Director General National AIDS Control Organisation, Jury Member, Ford Foundation International Fellowships Programme, Country Director IUCN, India and Chairman Public Grievances Commission National Capital Territory of Delhi, Ms. Ghosh has focussed on improving the process and outcomes in the G to C [Government to Citizen] service delivery (policy, program and project development, implementation and evaluation).

Manish Arora

Law, they say, is a jealous mistress, which leaves little room for other occupations and engagements. Quite exceptionally, Dr. Manish Arora has managed a way around quite masterly and has donned many hats on many occasions with equal elan.

Dr. Arora, an advocate practicing in the Supreme Court of India, is Director, Universal Law Publishing Company, which is one of the most noted law publishers in the sub-continent. He is Senior Consultant to LexisNexis. He is President Universal Institute of Legal Studies. He is Director India Centre for Fast Arbitration. He has edited and authored a number of books and edits a monthly national magazine for lawyers. He has to his credit numerous articles on legal issues published in several magazines and has also appeared on television as an expert on a few occasions.

On the academic side he is a Visiting Course faculty at Harvard Law School USA, Deputy Director Amity Law School Delhi, Visiting Faculty with National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi and University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.

On the judicial side, he is an Arbitrator appointed by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India for Settlement of International Domain Name Disputes, and has also worked as Magistrate in Matrimonial matters in the XVIIth Lok Adalat at Delhi. He is Patent Agent, Government of India and Trade Marks Agent, Government of India.

He is past President of Harvard Club of India 2008 -2010 and is presently Chairman of Copyright Committee of The Federation of Publishers’ and Booksellers’ Associations in India.

Ms. Meera Bhatia

Darpan Kalra

Darpan Kalra is experienced in executive recruitment across telecom, high-tech, services, and  industri’als. Based in New Delhi, he leads Egon Zehnder’s Technology and Communications and Legal Practices in India. Darpan is also active in the firm’s Services and Industrial Practices. His clients include small, mid-size and large organizations in a range of sectors spanning telecom, mobile, IT services, internet/digital, BPO, software, professional services, education, and real estate. Darpan provides executive search, non-executive director search, advisory board search, and leadership team assessments. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Darpan was a Senior Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in India, and a Senior Analyst with AT. Kearney in the US and India, working with Indian and international B2C and 828 clients on a range of challenges including globalization, organizational effectiveness, restructuring, growth, and efficiency.

Darpan studied in the US, earning a BA (Honors) in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Prerna Makkar

Prerna makkar has a MPA/ International Development from Harvard Kennedy School, MBA from Faculty of Management Studies and BA Economics from St. Stephen’s College. Prerna has received the Fulbright and Joint Japan/World Bank Scholarships.

Over the last decade, Prerna has worked on social sector policy and implementation issues across various organizations and countries and had the privilege of incredible vantage points, ranging from a policy view from the very top at the UN Secretary- General’s Executive Office in New York to large-scale grassroots impact through the design and roll-out of deworming programs in India. Prior to that, she worked in mainstream management consulting, advising clients on strategy, operations and organization.

At HKS, Prerna conceptualised and coordinated the first India Trek and facilitated its continuity. She vasalso a marketingco-director for the Social Enterprise Conference, a Dean’s Ambassador for Outreach and a Planning Committee Member for the first Harvard University-Wide Day of Service.

Sandeep Chopra

Mr. Sandeep Chopra has been Strategy and Supply Chain Management Head at Azure Power India Private Limited since May 2013. Mr. Chopra serves as Head of Strategy and Supply Chain Management at Azure Power Global Limited. He has 15 years of global experience ranging from process re- engineering, project management and finance. Mr. Chopra worked with HSBC performing different roles in change management for the finance function, ranging from managing large- scale change projects and service delivery teams and setting up a finance offshoring center in India from 2005 to 2013. Mr. Chopra worked at Arthur Andersen, S.R. Batliboi and PricewaterhouseCoopers in their assurance practices. Mr. Chopra completed his general management program from Harvard Business School in 2012. He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.

Mr. Alok Sangwan

Mr. Alok Sangwan is a practicing lawyer in Supreme Court of India. He started his career as a lawyer in the office of Mr. M.N. Krishnamani, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India in August, 2000. Presently he is Additional Advocate General for State of Haryana in Supreme Court. Mr. Sangwan is trained as Negotiator from Harvard Law School. Mr. Sangwan has also done diploma in Corporate Laws and Management from Indian Law Institute. Mr. Sangwan has travelled extensively in entire Europe, USA, Middle East, South Asia and participated in numerous International and National seminars, conferences and workshops. Presently, Mr. Sangwan is legal consultant to some of the reputed IT Companies based out of Silicon Valley, California. Mr. Sangwan, also advice on critical issues to several law firms having their international presence. He is also associated with few charity organizations, which are working for the upliftment of rural India in the field of Environment, Health, Education and empowerment of women. He has also remained Executive Member of Harvard Club of India (2013-2015) & (2015-2017).

Mr. Sangwan is an avid Golfer as well. Besides professional activities Mr. Sangwan has been helping Harvard Alumni in India during their visits and closely interact with them on socio-economic issues.

Mr. Alok Sangwan was at HNI, 2012 (Harvard Law School).

Vishnu Karthik

Vishnu Karthik is currently the CEO of Enlearn Education and Associate-Director of The Heritage Group of Schools. Apart from being on the board of the Heritage Schools, Vishnu is also responsible for the new school initiatives and strategic projects for the group. In his prior role, he was the head of the

Senior School of the Gurgaon Campus. He was also a grade IX & X economics teacher and a trekking instructor. A proponent of experiential learning, Vishnu has visited over 50 experiential and deeper learning schools worldwide. Among his other administrative responsibilities, Vishnu is keenly interested in building instructional leadership capabilities, college placements, student leadership development, adolescent coaching, authentic assessments and deeper learning curriculum. Prior to working in schools, Vishnu was a management consultant and has worked with organizations like Accenture, Right Management in the areas of leadership development, organization change management, learning design and has delivered projects in India, USA, South East Asia and Europe. An alumnus of Harvard Graduate School of Education, he is personally passionate about cognitive-neuroscience, project based learning and incubating experiential learning schools. In 2009, Vishnu co-authored (along with Swami Mitrananda) Seeking – a travelogue on a 14-day sojourn across the Arabian sea on a cargo ship. He is currently working on a portal focused on deeper learning -www.deeperlearning.org

Ghanshyam Tiwari

Ghanshyam Tiwari is an education entrepreneur, public policy advisor, socialist politician, and a ready mentor to children and youth. He grew up across Air force bases in several states and acquired professional education at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Kellogg School of Management, and Harvard Kennedy School. In last 17 years. he has worked in engineering roles at companies such as Intel Corp and consulting and advisory roles for McKinsey and Co., London School of Economics, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He has helped develop non-profits such as Bharat Abhyudaya Foundation. Progressive Foundation, and Leadership Projects for Bihar.

Alongside., he has worked closely with Chief Ministers of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Today, Ghanshyam runs an education venture building large network of teachers for teaching high school students and serves as National Spokesperson of Samajwadi Party.

Susmit Pushkar

I have been practicing law for the past 13 years at New Delhi. I am a Partner at Khaitan & Co, a leading law firm of India and an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. I have been practicing at the various courts and tribunals in Delhi. I received my LL.M. degree from the Harvard Law School in 2009 and my BA.LL.B from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal in 2004.

My practice area includes corporate and commercial dispute resolution, white collar crimes defence work and anti-trust enforcement actions. I also take up some pro-bono work, within the overall constraints of my practice. I have been an active member of the HCI since 2009.
